A top-three exchange by global spot volume and MiCA-licensed in Austria since May 2025, so it can legally onboard buyers in all 29 EU/EEA countries. PEPE trades against USDT, USDC and a direct EUR pair, with perpetual futures alongside spot — roughly $3.5M in 24-hour PEPE/USDT spot volume when we last checked, which is deep enough that a retail-size order barely moves the price.
Flat spot fees 0.10% maker / 0.10% taker, 25% off paid in MNT · PEPE in EUR, USDT, USDC + perpetuals · Not available to US residents
Running since 2011 and licensed on both sides of the Atlantic — MiCA in Ireland plus full US access. It also offers the widest fiat choice we found: PEPE priced directly in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD and CAD, by bank transfer or card.
Kraken Pro fees from 0.16% maker / 0.26% taker · PEPE in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD
Buy PEPE on Kraken
The most beginner-friendly route: a mainstream mobile app with a direct PEPE/USD pair, MiCA-licensed in Malta and open to US users. Convenience costs more — app purchases carry a spread instead of a visible trading fee.
App purchases include a spread (~0.5–1%) · Exchange spot from 0.25% / 0.50%
Buy PEPE on Crypto.com
One of crypto’s oldest exchanges, listing over 4,800 assets — the widest catalogue here. Solid PEPE/USDT liquidity and MiCA-licensed for EU clients, though base spot fees sit at the higher end of this list.
Spot fees 0.20% / 0.20% (VIP 0) · Not available to US residents
Trade PEPE on Gate.io
A beginner-friendly exchange with 700+ coins, a simple interface and recurring-buy tools. PEPE/USDT liquidity is strong, but its European arm cannot currently onboard new EU customers, so EU buyers should pick a licensed venue above.
Spot fees from 0.10% · KYC required · EU onboarding currently paused
Trade PEPE on KuCoin
The cheapest way to trade PEPE on this list: 0% maker fees on spot plus PEPE perpetual futures, across 2,000+ listed assets. Light verification gets you trading, but withdrawal limits apply until full KYC.
Spot fees 0% maker / 0.05% taker · No MiCA licence — not available in the EU or US
Trade PEPE on MEXC
The deepest PEPE market of everything we track — roughly $9.1M in 24-hour spot volume — and the lowest headline spot fees on this page. MiCA-licensed in Malta since January 2025. This is the venue to use if you trade size, but US access is limited.
Spot fees from 0.08% / 0.10% · PEPE in USD, EUR, USDT, USDC + perpetuals · Limited US access
Trade PEPE on OKX

Step by Step
Use the comparison table (and our full fee breakdown): OKX for the deepest liquidity (and MiCA-licensed EU access), Kraken or Crypto.com for USD buys in the US, MEXC for the lowest fees, Bybit or Gate.io if you also want PEPE derivatives or a wider altcoin catalogue.
Centralized exchanges require identity verification (KYC) — a photo ID and a selfie, usually approved within minutes. On Uniswap you skip this step entirely and connect a wallet instead.
Deposit USD/EUR by bank transfer or card, or transfer crypto you already own. Stablecoins like USDT are the most common quote currency for PEPE pairs.
Search the PEPE pair (e.g. PEPE/USDT) and use a market order for instant fills or a limit order to set your own price. PEPE’s price per token is tiny — you buy millions at a time; focus on the dollar amount, not the token count.
For larger holdings, withdraw to a self-custody wallet that supports ERC-20 tokens — MetaMask or Trust Wallet for convenience, a Ledger or Trezor hardware wallet for long-term storage. When you want out again, see how to sell PEPE.
The Basics
PEPE is a meme coin launched in April 2023 as an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain, themed after the Pepe the Frog internet meme. It has a fixed maximum supply of 420.69 trillion tokens, no taxes on trades, and — by its own admission — no utility: its value is driven entirely by community, culture and speculation.
Despite that, PEPE became one of the largest meme coins in crypto, peaking at a market capitalisation of about $11.8 billion in December 2024 (a price of $0.0000280 on 9 December) and maintaining listings on nearly every major exchange. We track live price, market cap and per-exchange liquidity on our PEPE price page, and score published forecasts against reality in our prediction tracker.
Know the risk: meme coins are among the most volatile assets in crypto. PEPE currently trades roughly 87% below its December 2024 peak, and is down about 63% over the past year — see what PEPE actually is and whether it is legit. Never invest money you can’t afford to lose — nothing on this page is financial advice.
Answers
PEPE trades on every major centralized exchange — Bybit, Kraken, Crypto.com, Gate.io, KuCoin, MEXC, OKX and Coinbase — plus decentralized exchanges such as Uniswap. Measured against exchange APIs on September 7, 2026, OKX ran the deepest PEPE spot market of these at about $9.1M in 24 hours. Binance is still the largest PEPE market globally but stopped accepting new EU/EEA sign-ups in July 2026 under MiCA, so European buyers should use a MiCA-licensed venue such as OKX, Bybit, Gate.io, Kraken or Crypto.com.
Yes. Kraken and Crypto.com both list a direct PEPE/USD pair and accept USD deposits by bank transfer, making them the simplest regulated routes for dollar buys. Card purchases work almost everywhere but cost more than a bank transfer plus a spot trade, and Crypto.com’s app adds a spread on top.
Yes — Coinbase added spot PEPE trading in late 2024, and it remains available in most supported regions. We focus our comparison on the exchanges above because they offer deeper PEPE liquidity or lower fees, but Coinbase is a valid option if you already use it.
Yes, on a decentralized exchange: Uniswap lets you swap ETH for PEPE from your own wallet with no account or identity check. Among centralized exchanges, MEXC permits limited trading with light verification, but withdrawal limits apply until you complete full KYC.
MEXC is the cheapest on our list, with 0% maker and 0.05% taker spot fees, followed by OKX (0.08% maker / 0.10% taker), then Bybit and KuCoin at a flat 0.10%. Gate.io charges 0.20% at its base tier, and Crypto.com’s app is the most expensive because it prices in a spread instead of a fee. On Uniswap you pay a ~0.30% pool fee plus Ethereum gas, which can exceed exchange fees for small trades.
No cryptocurrency is a safe investment, and meme coins are the highest-risk category. PEPE has no utility or cash flow — its price is driven purely by speculation and community momentum, and it routinely swings double-digit percentages in a day. Only invest what you can afford to lose entirely.
PEPE is a standard ERC-20 token, so any Ethereum wallet works: MetaMask, Rabby or Trust Wallet for everyday use, or a Ledger/Trezor hardware wallet for long-term storage. For meaningful amounts, withdraw from the exchange to self-custody — exchange accounts are a bigger hacking target than your own wallet.
CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap track PEPE’s price, market cap and volume across all exchanges for free, and TradingView offers full charting for pairs like PEPE/USDT. Every exchange app above also has built-in price alerts you can set for PEPE.

About This Guide
PepePrime is an independent PEPE-focused guide. We compare the platforms where PEPE actually trades, verify fees against official fee schedules, and update this page as listings change (last full check: September 7, 2026). We earn referral commissions from the exchanges listed here — that’s how the site is funded — but commissions never change the facts and figures we publish, and we remove any platform that stops being a genuine option for our readers (Binance came off the list in September 2026 when it lost EU access).
